The Baigong Pipes

Do modern metal pipes buried in ancient Chinese stone prove that aliens must have visited?
The Baigong Pipes are reported to be associated with a "pyramid" about 50 to 60 meters (160 to 200 feet) high built on Mount Baigong. The front of the "pyramid" reportedly contains three caves. The mouths of the two smaller caves have collapsed. Only the largest cave, which is 6 meters (18 feet) high, can be entered.
Two Baigong Pipes have been reported from the largest cave. One of these is described as being 40 cm (16 inch) in diameter and preserved as a reddish-brown "half-pipe". Within the same cave, another pipe-like feature of similar diameter was also found. "Dozens" of upright pipe-like features, about 10 to 40 cm (4 to 16 inches) in diameter, were also found protruding from Mount Baigong above the largest cave.Additional Baigong Pipes were found on shore and within Toson Lake, which lies 80 meters (260 feet) from the mouth of the largest cave. On the beach of Lake Toson, about 40 meters (130 feet) from the mouth of the largest cave, apparently flat-lying, hollow, pipe-like features were found. These reddish-brown pipe-like features range in diameter from 2 to 4.5 cm (0.8 to 1.8 inch) and have an east-west orientation. Another group of pipe-like features, presumably vertical, either protrude from or lie just below the surface of the lake.
Associated with these pipe-like features are "rusty scraps" and "strangely shaped stones". Analysis of the "rusty scraps" by Liu Shaolin at a "local smeltery" reportedly found that they consist of 30 percent ferric oxide and large amounts of silicon dioxide and calcium oxide. Because any metallurgical analysis reports the composition of a material analyzed, not in terms of the actual minerals comprising it, but only in terms of percentages of the oxides of the specific elements present, the calcium present in the "pipes" could have been in the form of calcite, a mineral that naturally forms concretions.

Mysterious Astronaut Carving

Could this be a carving from someone who’s been to the future? Could this be some bit of technology that existed back in 1100 AD? Cathedral in Spain, built by Episcope de Salamanca in 1102 A.D., there is a figure of a NASA Astronaut hides among the fascinating carvings!
In fact its non of the above: In 1992 the Cathedral Ieronimus was renovated to add some additional modern and contemporary motifs. The reason for these motifs was in the tradition of the cathedral builders and restorers, they include contemporary motifs among older ones as a way of signing their work. The builder at the time, Jeronimo Garcia, chose an astronaut as a symbol of the twentieth century. This obviously debunks any and all suspicions of someone sent from the future

The Haunted Busby Chair

Thomas Busby was the original owner of what is now known as the Busby Stoop Inn, which is located in Kirby Wiske, a small village near the town of Thirsk, in North Yorkshire. The death of Busby has been popularly associated with a number of fatalities that occurred later in history, mostly because of the chair itself.
In the year 1702, Busby had a meeting with his father-in-law, Daniel Auty (some historians use the spelling 'Awety'), with whom he had become a partner in petty crime. After a heated argument, Busby returned to the pub to find Auty sitting in his favorite chair. According to the story, Busby, whose reputation as a drunkard was well known throughout the community, ordered Auty to leave, and after a while, went and found him at what was then called Danotty Hall. Here, police say that Busby murdered Auty with a hammer and hid the body in the woods.
The authorities soon located Auty's remains and arrested Busby at the pub. The story goes that as he was being led away to the gallows, Busby screamed out curses to anyone who should ever sit in his chair. Being in a drunken stupor at the time, it is very unlikely that Busby drew much attention to his rantings, although they were documented by several witnesses. Some accounts reported that Busby shouted to onlookers that anyone who sat in his chair would die a horrible death, just as he was about to do. Busby was led across the street and hanged in a makeshift gallows, where his remains were displayed for days afterwards.
Since that time, many people have reported seeing the ghost of Thomas Busby, at or near the hangman's gibbet, with a noose around his neck. But it is the curse of his favorite chair that has become the subject of both folklore and mystical intrigue. There are verified accounts of a good number of people who sat in Busby's "haunted" chair in the years that followed, and meeting with sudden death soon afterwards.
In the late 1800's, a chimney sweep and his friend were sitting in the pub, and the sweep, who apparently had occupied the Busby Stoop Chair, was found dead the next morning, on a gatepost next to the old hangman gibbet.
Later, a certain Mr. Earnshaw, who for a time was landlord of the inn, overheard two RAF pilots talking about the famous chair, and witnessed them take turns sitting in it. On that same day, both pilots were killed when their car struck a tree. There are accounts of serveral motorcyclists and bicyclists who, after stopping at the inn for a drink, were later involved in fatal collisions with automobiles.
One man who sat in the Busby Stoop Chair died of a massive heart attack the following night. A hitchhiker, after spending time at the pub for refreshment, and who presumably occupied the famous chair, was struck and killed by an automobile two days later. The inn itself was becoming more and more famous as these stories became widely circulated, and most folks agreed that it was either the most amazing of coincidences, or an example of actual cursed enchantment.
The pub was later owned by a brewery, and in the 1970's the landlord asked that the chair be removed from the premises. It is now found in the Thirsk Museum and it is, of course, now protected from occupancy. No one has sat in the famous "haunted" Busby Stoop Chair since 1978. And naturally, the Busby Stoop Inn is a favorite stop for inquisitive ghost hunters and curious tourists.

The Unexplained Mysteries of the Baghdad Battery

In 1936, archaeologists discovered a strange object while excavating the ruins of a 2,000 year old village around Baghdad.

At first glance, the object appeared to be a clay pot. But when a German archaeologist named Wilheim Konig took a good look at it, he concluded that it was actually an ancient electric battery! It sounds strange, doesn’t it? But upon close study, it doesn’t appear that there’s much to it.Its simply a pot or bucket that contains metal, and if it’s filled up with acid or akali, a chemical reaction takes place which creates electricity. It is no more or less the first “modern battery”, and it doesn’t necessarily mean anything out of the ordinary, nor does it mean the ancients were even USING it as a battery. How could they have? Ancient civilizations didn’t even know what batteries were, right?

There are some who do believe that it was something special though, and that modern mainstream science isn’t looking into it as much as they should be. They believe that ANY type of battery—including a simple one, dating back to 250 B.C. is evidence of something extraordinary. The only explanations could be that either aliens walked this Earth thousands of years ago, or that ancient civilizations were much more advanced than we now give them credit for.

Konig himself speculated that the Baghdad battery could have been used for electroplating gold onto silver objects. Of course there’s no real evidence for this, and most modern mainstream scientists are skeptical toward that idea. They don’t see any reason(s) to believe that the Baghdad battery had any electrical use, and that its existence may have been for more simple purposes such as storing important papryus scrolls. If this is true, the scrolls would have obviously rotted away since then, leaving behind a bit of acidic residue. This explanation is more likely than most others---and while there are many “archaeological anomalies” from the past, this one doesn’t appear to be one of them.

Mystery of Kongka La

Kongka La is the low ridge pass in the Himalayas. It is in the disputed India-China border area in Ladakh. This is the area where Indian and Chinese armies fought major war in 1962. The area is one of the least accessed area in the world and by agreement the two countries do not patrol this part of the border. According to many tourists, Buddhist monks and the local people of Ladakh, the Indian Army and the Chinese Military maintain the line of control. But there is something much more serious happening in this area.
According to the few local people on the Indian and Chinese sides, this is where the UFOs are seen coming out of the ground, According to many, the UFO underground bases are in this region and both the Indian and Chinese Government know this very well.
Recently, some Hindu pilgrims on their way to Mount Kailash from the Western pass, came across strange lights in the sky. The local guides while in the Chinese territory told them that this was nothing new and is a normal phenomenon from Kongka Pass area - the tensed border region between India and China. This strange lighted triangular silent crafts show up from underground and moves almost vertically up.Some of the adventurous pilgrims wanted to look into the site. They were first turned back by the Chinese guard posts as they were refused entry from the Chinese side. When they tried to approach the site from Indian side, the Indian border patrol also turned them down in spite of their permit to travel between the two countries. The pilgrims at that stage started quizzing the Indian border security personnel. The security personnel told them that they are ordered not to allow any one near the area of interest and it is true that strange objects come out
from under the ground with amplified and modulated lights. India’s Special Operations Forces and the intelligence agencies are in charge of that area.
The locals start laughing in that area when they are asked about these UFO sightings. They get surprised why the Governments are so eager to hide these obvious facts. According to them the extra-terrestrial presence is well known and is in deep into the ground. They believe neither the Indian or Chinese Governments do not want to expose the fact for some reason. When they bring up this matter to local Governments, they are told to keep quiet and forget the same. This is the region where the Euresian plate and the Indian plate have created convergent plate boundaries. Convergent plate boundaries are formed where one plate dives under another. Consequently, this is one of the very few areas in the world where the depth of the earth's crust twice as thick as in other places. The double thick earth-crust allows the creation of underground bases very deep into the tectonic plates.
Recently in the local school, young children of the area entered into a drawing contest. More than half of the drawings had to do with strange objects in the sky and some coming out of the mountains. Many of them even know what and when to look for.
The other alternative is that it is an underground strategic Air Force base of some one. Then why will either country allow the base on the official no man’s land in the highly sensitive disputed border area? Why is this region continuously reporting UFO sightings from various kinds of people?

A Home built for haunting-"Winchester Mystery House"

The former mistress of the mansion allegedly went crazy after her husband died, and kept construction on the house going until her own death years later. The house is a crooked, confusing place, complete with doors that open into walls and stairways that lead nowhere. The fictional home seen in the movie is based on the very real story of the Winchester Mansion, also known as the Winchester Mystery House.

In 1862, at the height of the Civil War, a woman named Sarah Pardee married William Wirt Winchester, son of Oliver Winchester, creator of the Winchester repeating rifle, and heir to his fortune. They lived happily in New Haven, Connecticut, and four years later, on July 15, 1866, Sarah gave birth to a little girl whom she named Annie. Unfortunately, the child contracted "marasmus" disease and died a short time later on July 24. Quite obviously, Sarah was devastated. Teetering on the brink of madness over the death of her only child, Sarah nearly broke down when years later on March 7, 1881 her husband William died of pulmonary tuberculosis. Upon his death, Sarah inherited over $20 million and 48.9% of the Winchester Repeating Arms Company, totaling approximately $1,000 per day.

A while later, Sarah met with a Spiritualist medium who told her that because the Winchester bloodline was responsible for creating a weapon of destruction, the family was cursed, and that is why William and Annie died. The spirit of every person who had ever been killed by a Winchester rifle was now seeking revenge. The medium, who would later come to be known as the "Boston Medium" then advised Sarah to sell her home in Connecticut and move west. She was told to build a new home to appease the spirits and give them shelter. "You can never stop building the house," the medium warned. "If you continue building, you will live. Stop and you will die."

Sarah ended up in the Santa Clara Valley, California where she found a six-room house that was still under construction. She purchased the house from a Dr. Caldwell and began building. She kept building for the next 36 years, drawing on her immense fortune to keep the never-ending project funded. For 24 hours a day, a team of 22 carpenters worked non-stop. She would hire them to build a section just to knock it down later and build it again. Rooms were added one after another until they formed entire wings, doors connected to windows and elevators were installed along with 47 fireplaces. Trap doors, upside-down stair posts, hallways that doubled back on themselves and doors that opened up into midair above the lawn were just some of the oddities included in the strange house's design. Obsessed with spider web motifs and the number 13, Sarah made sure all the windows contained 13 panes of glass, the greenhouse had 13 cupolas and the staircases had 13 steps.

Sarah believed that by controlling the layout of the house she could control the spirits who she believed inhabited it. The twisty, maze-like design was intended to confuse the evil spirits. By 1906 the home was seven stories tall. It was also in this year that the great San Francisco Earthquake struck. The top three floors collapsed into the garden, and after being trapped under a fireplace herself (it had shifted during the quake), Sarah boarded up the front 30 rooms in an attempt to trap the spirits who had fallen when that part of the house collapsed.

Construction continued on and on and on, until Sarah's death on September 4, 1922 at the age of 83. By this time, she had been building the house nonstop for 38 years, and during that whole time the workmen had not been given a single day's rest due to Sarah's incessant fear that she would die if the building stopped. The first day the workers had ever been given off was the day she died. The house was willed to Sarah's niece, France Marriot. At five stories tall, the house was originally thought to contain 148 rooms. A recount determined that there were actually 160, including 40 bedrooms, 2 ballrooms, 17 chimneys, 10,000 windows and two basements.. Today, Winchester Mansion, located at 525 South Winchester Blvd., is an Historic Landmark in the state of California described as a "large, old dwelling with an unknown number of rooms." Sitting on 4.5 acres of land the house has several different tours available to the general public, including a flashlight tour each Halloween and every Friday the 13th.

As for it's haunted history, there is no evidence that the mansion was in fact haunted during the time Sarah Winchester was frantically building. What has happened after her death, however, is a different story. Two tour guides and several guests have spotted a construction worker with distinct mustache wearing overalls and pushing a wheelbarrow. Upon being shown the photo (pictured at right) of Mrs. Winchester's construction crew, one of the guides identified the man to the far right as the man seen throughout the grounds and in the basement. Banging doors, strange footsteps, eerie voices and cold spots are all common occurrences at the Winchester Mansion, but it's far more likely that, rather than spirits, it is Sarah Winchester herself who is haunting the home now.

CHINA'S LOST PYRAMIDS

Deep within China near the ancient capitol of Xi'an lies a series of pyramid mounds virtually unknown outside the country. Entwined with the reality of these remote tombs, lies a legend of an even greater pyramid seldom seen; a pyramid of such size and grandeur as to put all the other pyramids of the world to shame. This is the legend of the white pyramid of China.

Lake Vostok

Lake Vostok is the most recent mystery coming from Antarctica, and the whole world probably, as there is possibility for some revolutionary revelations. Scientists believe that in the lake under the ice surface there are some species that have survived 15 billions years. However, these species would be something that the world has never seen before, as they would have developed under complete darkness. The researchers are close to obtaining a water sample, so we should wait for the results.

Racetrack Playa

Racetrack Playa in California is well known due to its sailing stones. No one knows how, but the stones there somehow manage to move from their original position, leaving a track behind them. The reasons are still unknown and are subject of research. It is supposed that the winds in the valley are “responsible” for this.

The Nazca Lines

The Nazca Lines cover more than 190 square miles in the southern deserts of Peru. The mysterious shapes etched into the land rival football fields and predate the Incan Empire. The ‘Las Manos’ figure (above) is 2,000 years old. Little is know about why the Nazca people constructed such vast pieces of sand art, some believe they are extraterrestrial in nature, while others claim they may have carried and pointed to sources of water

The mighty Incan Empire of South America

The mighty Incan Empire of South America flourished between 1200 and 1535 AD. They developed drainage systems and canals to expand their crops, and built stone cities atop steep mountains — such as Machu Picchu (above) — without ever inventing the wheel. Despite their vast achievements, the Incan Empire with its 40,000 manned army was no match for 180 Spanish conquistadors armed with advanced weapons and smallpox.

THE TRAVERTINE POOLS OF PAMUKKALE

The strange and weirdly beautiful terraced pools of Pamukkale have been appreciated for over two millennia and yet still remain a little known wonder of the world. Thousands of years ago earthquakes, which are common in Turkey, created fractures that allowed powerful hot springs to bring water rich in calcium carbonate to the surface. As the water evaporated the chalky material condensed and formed layer-upon-layer of Travertine and thus slowly built up the walls over time in the same way that a stalactite forms in a cave. Apparently Pammakale means Castle of Cotton but the Greco-Romans built a town above it called Heirapolis – meaning “Holy City” or “Sacred City”. They too recognised it as a rare and important place attributing healing powers to the milky-white waters.

SANQINGSHAN - CHINA

Sanqingshan is a relatively small National Park near the city of Shangrao in the Jiangxi province of China. What it lacks in size it makes up for in shear natural beauty. It is officially the 7th World Heritage Site designated in China and has been noted for its exceptional scenic attraction. The key mystique of this remarkable place is the combination of extraordinary granite geology in the form of weird outcrops and pillars combined with seasonal climate variations than often cause mists, fogs and striking sunsets. Those that have visited this place describe a feeling of overwhelming peace and tranquility. This effect is enhanced by the profusion of natural waterfalls, pools and springs. If you allow yourself, it is truly possible to see Earth, Water, Wind and Fire joined in time.

Chupacabra

El Chupacabra (Goat Sucker) is mostly associated with Latin American communities in the USA, Mexico, and Puerto Rico (where it was first reported). It is supposedly a heavy creature, the size of a small bear, with a row of spines reaching from the neck to the base of the tail and it takes its name from the fact that it is supposed to attack animals and drink their blood - especially goats.
While the legend began around 1987, there are many similarities to the Vampire of Moca, the name given to an unknown creature to killed animals all over the small town of Moca in the 1970s.
The vampire of Moca left the animals completely devoid of blood which had apparently been removed by a series of small circular cuts.
The most common description of Chupacabra is a lizard-like being, appearing to have leathery or scaly greenish-gray skin and sharp spines or quills running down its back.
This form stands approximately 3 to 4 feet (1 to 1.2 m) high, and stands and hops in a similar fashion to a kangaroo. In at least one sighting, the creature hopped 20 feet (6 m).
This variety is said to have a dog or panther-like nose and face, a forked tongue protruding from it, large fangs, and to hiss and screech when alarmed, as well as leave a sulfuric stench behind.
When it screeches, some reports note that the chupacabra’s eyes glow an unusual red, then give the witnesses nausea. For some witnesses, it was seen with bat-like wings.

The Forbidden Ground

The American Indians called this place “The Forbidden Ground”. Scientists claim that it is a spherical globe of force – half above ground, half below. What happens within it is astounding. The Oregon Vortex is located south of Eugene, Oregon and is a visitor attraction for those who want to see the weird laws of nature. The Indians claimed that their horses would not go into the area of the vortex, so they avoided it, too. Scientists in the early 20th century proposed that it was the location of crossed magnetic poles. No one knows for sure, but within this globe of strangeness, people do not normally stand erect. Inevitably the visitor assumes a posture that inclines toward magnetic north. As another person, on a level platform, recedes from you towards magnetic south, they appear taller. When they approach you, coming towards magnetic north, they become shorter. This is contrary to the laws of perspective, as we know it, and must be seen to be believed. Objects seem to roll uphill and there is an old mining office on the property that rests at an odd angle. The oddities can be seen at the location and through still photography. Skeptics say it is just an optical illusion, but it is something that should be observed for yourself!

The Mayas

The secret of Mayas Archaeology in America is in infancy. Still we have discovered a civilization par excellence. This civilization was called the Mayas. They were far ahead of the Egyptians and Greeks. They had the knowledge of Zero and build impressive architecture. And all this was gazed to the ground before Columbus discovered America. The world is still waiting for documents to prove that how did these people built up such a magnificent civilization at a place, where even to this day, life is an unending struggle for survival? How was it that a flourishing civilization was created by the people of Stone Age? And who were these people whose classical age collapsed before even Columbus could discover America?

Door to Hell

The Door to Hell, this place in Turkmenistan is situated near the small town of Darvaz. When geologists were drilling for gas, 35 years ago, they suddenly found an underground cavern that was so big, all the drilling site with all the equipment and camps got deep deep under the ground. None dared to go down there because the cavern was filled with gas, so they ignited it so that no poisonous gas could come out of the hole, and since then, it has been burning. Nobody knows how many tons of excellent gas has been burned for all those years but it just seems to be infinite, some also say it is burning for over 200 years.

The quiet town of Bonito

Mato Grosso do Sul region in Brazil (and especially the quiet town of Bonito) boasts many marvelous underground lakes: Gruta do Lago Azul, Gruta do Mimoso, Aquário Natural. The world famous "Gruta do Lago Azul” (Blue Lake Cave) is a natural monument whose interior is formed by stalactites, stalagmites and a huge and wonderful blue lake. The beauty of the lake is something impressive. The Blue Lake Cave has a big variety of geological formation but impresses mainly for the deep blue colored water of its inside lake

LEGEND OF ROBB CANYON, NEVADA

LEGEND OF ROBB CANYON, NEVADA

In the early 1970's the mutilated bodies of a woman and 3 men were unearthed in this, at the time, remote high desert canyon in west Reno. To this day, the murders have not been solved, and several visiting psychics feel the dead may be attempting to engage the living to solve their gruesome murders. Currently the canyon sits below a city park, and the mesa-top high above is speckled with houses. Over the years, residents have reported seeing strange lights and hearing very disturbing sounds, including a bloodcurdling scream, that "you will never forget for the rest of your life" echoing up the canyon. Although many long time residents of the area are reluctant to talk about what they have experienced, it is hard to not find someone without a personal account of paranormal activity. Although many other west Reno parks are crowded in summer evenings; you will never see any one in here after sunset.

The mysterious timepiece

Archaeologists are stumped after finding a 100-year-old Swiss watch in an ancient tomb that was sealed more than 400 years ago.
They believed they were the first to visit the Ming dynasty grave in Shangsi, southern China, since its occupant's funeral.
But inside they uncovered a miniature watch in the shape of a ring marked 'Swiss' that is thought to be just a century old.
The mysterious timepiece was encrusted in mud and rock and had stopped at 10:06 am.
Watches were not around at the time of the Ming Dynasty and Switzerland did not even exist as a country, an expert pointed out.
The archaeologists were filming a documentary with two journalists when they made the puzzling discovery.
so is this a proof of a time traveller.. or just a century old grave robber???

The Voynich manuscript

The Voynich manuscript is a mysterious work which was created in the early 15th century, probably in northern Italy. It comprises about 240 vellum pages,[notes 1] most with illustrations, and in many ways looks like an herbal of the time period. Although many possible authors have been proposed, the author, script, and language remain unknown. It has been described as "the world's most mysterious manuscript".
Generally presumed to be some kind of ciphertext, the Voynich manuscript has been studied by many professional and amateur cryptographers, including American and British codebreakers from both World War I and World War II. Yet it has defied all decipherment attempts, becoming a historical cryptology cause célèbre. The mystery surrounding it has excited the popular imagination, making the manuscript a subject of both fanciful theories and novels.
The book is named after the Polish-Lithuanian-American book dealer Wilfrid M. Voynich, who acquired it in 1912. As of 2011, the Voynich manuscript is owned by the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library of Yale University, and is formally referred to as "Beinecke MS 408".

City of the Devil

The main attraction of this Moguichang region lies not in the area or its natural beauty, but about the mystery of who was there, which has been known from time to time nearly a thousand years ago. People – locals call it Moguicheng which means the city of Satan. Moguicheng, which is a desert located in China’s Xinjiang province. This area is a neglected area, no single person who lives here. Although there is a castle – the castle.
Called the city of the devil because the city is saving mystery. If we walk on a sunny day towards the castle – the castle accompanied by the breeze, then we will hear the strains of melody that resembles a bell or strings – the strings are plucked gently. But when the storm comes, sand flying toward the sky and suddenly the sky became dark, the soft melody that will turn into a tiger’s roar sounds, wild cry of a baby, the sound of animals being slaughtered, dying woman’s screams and eventually all will turn into shouts, cries, and anger

Egypt

Egypt is one of the most mysterious and magical places on the planet. Located in North Africa, this country has more than 80 pyramids which spread along the Nile river. Each of the pyramids is around 100 meters high, made of giant stones weighing up to 100 tons each. Until now legends about the pyramids are still inviting new gossip, new myths and beliefs that still emerged. Among all of the pyramids, the Pyramid of Cheops is the highest. All of the pyramid was built only with stones piled one above the other stone. There’s no glue, nails or any adhesive found to be used in the manufacture of the pyramid. All the stones fit together somehow, so it is very difficult to find any cracks or gaps. Issues concerning the construction techniques used are also still unanswered to this day. So if you are indeed looking for mysteries, the Pyramids of Egypt will be a mystery to you all.

Easter Island

This island lies between Tahiti and Chile, and gained international popularity because of remarkable colossal statues shaped the human face. Each statue is 14 feet tall (about 4 meters), weighed 75 tonnes, made of volcanic stone, and represents the work of Rapa Nui society. Until now, It’s unknown how the statue was made by primitive technology owned by the society. There are various theories about the origin of the statue and its meaning, including one of them is fantastic theory which says that the statue was made by a UFO. But, until now the truth of all the existing theory has not been revealed.
